Records & Evidence
 

The Records department is manned Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM by Records Coordinator Tami Howell and Part-Time Records Clerk Michelle Jacobs.

The responsibilities of the Records Department include:

  • Filing and storage of police reports.
  • Providing copies of reports to the public, DA's office and other interested parties.
  • Entering and clearing arrest warrants.
  • Storing evidence and maintaining a "chain of evidence" on all stored items.
  • Releasing evidence to the public when no longer required.
  • Entering and filing the required reports to various County, State & Federal agencies. 
  • Storing and controlling all "lost and found items."
  • Organizing the yearly auction of unclaimed items.

Requests for copies of a police report are usually handled within 24 business hours providing the report is cleared for release. Ongoing investigations and reports not yet approved by the chain of command will not be released.

There will be a copy fee of $10 for each report or log copy. Reports can only be requested in person between 8 am and 4 pm Monday - Friday excluding Holidays.
